Therapy That Meets You Where You Are
Life can be challenging. You may be feeling overwhelmed, anxious, disconnected, exhausted, stuck in patterns that no longer serve you, or carrying the weight of experiences that continue to impact your daily life.
You do not have to navigate those challenges alone.
At Roots, we provide therapy that is grounded in connection, curiosity, and respect. We believe people make sense in the context of their experiences and that healing begins when we feel understood, supported, and safe enough to explore what has shaped us.
Our work is informed by trauma research, attachment theory, nervous system science, EMDR, somatic approaches, and authentic human connection.
We Accept Illinois Medicaid
Roots of Regulation Counseling is currently in network with Illinois Medicaid, including Blue Cross Community Health Plans.
We are also in the process of becoming in network with additional Medicaid plans, including Molina Healthcare and Aetna Better Health of Illinois.

What Guides Our Work
Trauma Informed Care
Trauma informed care is at the heart of everything we do.
For us, trauma informed care is not simply a phrase or a checklist. It is a commitment to understanding how life experiences, relationships, environments, and systems shape the ways people think, feel, connect, and cope.
We strive to create therapy experiences that are collaborative, respectful, and grounded in an understanding of the nervous system, attachment, and the impact of trauma across the lifespan.
Neurodivergent Affirming Care
Several members of our team have specialized training and experience supporting neurodivergent individuals, including those with ADHD and autism.
We recognize that many challenges arise not because someone is broken, but because they are navigating environments that may not fully understand or support the way they experience the world.
Our goal is to help clients better understand themselves, build on their strengths, and create lives that feel more sustainable and authentic.
In Person and Virtual Therapy
We offer:
- In person therapy in Frankfort, Illinois
- Telehealth therapy throughout Illinois
Virtual therapy can be a convenient option for individuals balancing work, parenting responsibilities, transportation challenges, health concerns, or busy schedules.
