Insurance & Fees

Where healing begins at the roots.

Seeking therapy is an investment in your wellbeing, your relationships, and your future.

We understand that navigating insurance and understanding costs can sometimes feel overwhelming. Our goal is to make the process as transparent, approachable, and stress free as possible so you can focus on what matters most: getting the support you need.

At Roots of Regulation Counseling, we believe access to quality mental health care should not be determined by income, identity, or circumstance. Our team is happy to help you understand your options, verify your benefits, and answer questions before getting started.

Reach Out

Insurance coverage varies by plan, and benefits can differ even within the same insurance company. If you are unsure whether your plan is accepted, we encourage you to reach out. We are happy to help verify benefits and explain your coverage options.

Private Pay Fees

Our standard private pay rate is:

$200 per 53 to 60 minute therapy session

Private pay allows for greater flexibility and privacy while reducing some of the limitations that can accompany insurance based care.

Many clients choose private pay because it allows therapy to focus entirely on their goals, values, and needs without requiring a diagnosis or ongoing communication with an insurance company.

Reduced Fee Appointments

We recognize that financial circumstances vary and that quality therapy should be accessible whenever possible.

A limited number of reduced fee appointments are available based on financial need and clinician availability.

If cost is a concern, we encourage you to reach out and discuss available options with our team.

Medicaid Therapy

Roots of Regulation Counseling is proud to be in network with Illinois Medicaid, including Blue Cross Community Health Plans, as part of our commitment to increasing access to quality mental health care.

We welcome individuals and families seeking support for trauma, anxiety, relationship challenges, parenting concerns, life transitions, and other mental health needs.

Using Insurance

Many clients choose to use their insurance benefits to reduce out of pocket costs.

When using insurance, clients should be aware that insurance companies typically require:

  • A mental health diagnosis
  • Documentation supporting medical necessity
  • Certain clinical information to be shared for reimbursement purposes

If you have questions about using insurance versus private pay, our team is happy to discuss the differences and help you determine which option feels right for you.

Common Questions

The cost of therapy depends on your insurance plan, deductible, copay, coinsurance, and out of pocket maximum. Our team can help verify your benefits before your first appointment so you have a clearer understanding of potential costs.

Most insurance plans do not require a referral for outpatient therapy services. However, requirements vary by plan, and we encourage clients to verify coverage with their insurance provider.

Please contact us. We are happy to review your insurance information and help determine whether your plan is in network.

Some insurance plans offer reimbursement for out of network mental health services. If we are not in network with your plan, we may be able to provide documentation that you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.

Yes. We offer telehealth services throughout Illinois as well as in person appointments at our Frankfort office.
