Careers at Roots of Regulation Counseling
Where healing begins at the roots.
At Roots of Regulation Counseling, we believe the quality of care we provide is directly connected to the support, growth, and wellbeing of the clinicians who provide it.
We are more than a therapy practice.
We are a community of clinicians committed to thoughtful, trauma informed, relationship centered care and the ongoing process of learning and growth.
If you are looking for a workplace that values curiosity, connection, authenticity, and professional development, we would love to hear from you.
Why Roots?
Many clinicians enter this field because they care deeply about people.
Yet too often, therapists find themselves working in environments that feel isolating, productivity driven, or disconnected from the values that brought them into the profession in the first place.
Roots was created with a different vision.
A place where relationships matter.
A place where clinicians are encouraged to remain curious.
A place where consultation, collaboration, and learning are part of the culture rather than an afterthought.
A place where people are supported not only as professionals, but as human beings.
We believe that the way we treat one another within a practice matters just as much as the care we provide to our clients.
What We Believe
Relationships matter.
We believe healing happens in relationship, and that principle extends beyond the therapy room.
Learning never ends.
We view clinical growth as a lifelong process and encourage clinicians to remain students of their craft.
People are not broken.
We approach both clients and colleagues with curiosity, compassion, and respect.
Community strengthens us.
We believe therapists do their best work when they feel connected, supported, and part of something larger than themselves.
Transparency builds trust.
We believe clinicians deserve to understand the business side of private practice, not just the clinical side.
Whenever possible, we strive to be transparent about practice operations, growth, decision making, and the realities of running a sustainable business. We want clinicians to feel informed, empowered, and equipped to make thoughtful decisions about their careers.
Our goal is not simply to provide a place to work. It is to help clinicians grow as professionals, leaders, and advocates for the people they serve.

Deep Roots Fellowship
At Roots, we believe clinicians deserve the same things we hope to offer our clients: connection, support, curiosity, and opportunities for growth.
Team members have access to Deep Roots: A Fellowship in Trauma, Attachment & Relational Healing, our internal year long learning experience focused on trauma, attachment, nervous system science, relational healing, and thoughtful clinical practice.
The fellowship is designed to help clinicians deepen their understanding of people, strengthen case conceptualization skills, integrate theory into practice, and develop greater confidence in working with complex clinical presentations.
Because we believe the best clinicians never stop learning.
Starting your career as a therapist can be exciting, meaningful, and overwhelming all at the same time.
At Roots, we are passionate about helping new clinicians develop confidence while continuing to deepen their understanding of trauma, attachment, relationships, and the therapeutic process.
We believe growth happens through experience, reflection, mentorship, consultation, and community. Our goal is not to create clinicians who have all the answers. Our goal is to support clinicians in becoming thoughtful, attuned, and effective practitioners who feel grounded in both their knowledge and their humanity.
If you are looking for a practice where you can continue learning while feeling supported, challenged, and encouraged, we would love to connect.
We hope the clinicians who join Roots build meaningful, fulfilling, and long term careers with us.
Relationships matter to us. Community matters to us. We invest deeply in the people who choose to build alongside us, and our hope is that those investments support years of meaningful work, growth, and connection.
At the same time, we recognize that careers evolve.
Some clinicians will grow into leadership roles. Some will discover new specialties. Some may eventually pursue opportunities that lead them in new directions.
We believe good mentorship is not about holding people back. It is about helping people grow.
Our commitment is to create an environment where clinicians feel supported, challenged, valued, and equipped for whatever comes next. We believe transparency, mentorship, consultation, and professional development are part of that commitment.
We openly share the realities of private practice, including the opportunities and challenges of building a sustainable business, because we believe clinicians deserve access to the knowledge and experiences that help them make informed decisions about their own careers.
While we hope clinicians find a professional home at Roots for many years, our greatest measure of success is seeing people continue to grow into the clinicians, leaders, and humans they are meant to become.
Because when clinicians grow, the people and communities they serve benefit too.
While every clinician brings their own strengths and style, people who thrive at Roots often value:
- Curiosity over certainty
- Connection over competition
- Lifelong learning
- Trauma informed care
- Attachment focused thinking
- Nervous system awareness
- Authenticity and humility
- Collaboration and community
- Social justice and human dignity
- Thoughtful, relationship centered care
If that sounds like you, there is a good chance you will feel at home here.
We welcome inquiries from:
- Fully licensed clinicians
- Associate and provisionally licensed clinicians
