Frequently Asked Questions
Where healing begins at the roots.
How do I know if therapy is right for me?
You do not need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy.
Many people seek therapy because they are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, stressed, or ready for something to feel different. Others come to therapy during major life transitions, relationship challenges, grief, parenting struggles, or periods of personal growth.
If something in your life deserves attention, support, or curiosity, therapy may be a helpful place to start.
What if I don’t know what kind of therapy I need?
That is completely okay.
Most people do not know whether they need EMDR, CBT, DBT, trauma therapy, or another specific approach. You do not need to have that figured out before reaching out.
Part of our job is helping you determine what type of support may be most helpful for your goals, experiences, and needs.
Specialized Expertise
What happens during the first session?
The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another.
We will discuss what brings you to therapy, your goals, relevant history, and any questions you may have about the process. You are not expected to share everything during your first appointment.
Our goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable, understood, and supported as we begin building a therapeutic relationship.
How often do people come to therapy?
Most clients begin with weekly sessions, although frequency may vary depending on your goals, needs, and circumstances.
As therapy progresses, some clients choose to meet less frequently while continuing to receive support and maintain progress.
Do you offer virtual therapy?
Yes.
We offer telehealth appointments throughout Illinois as well as in person therapy at our Frankfort office.
Many clients appreciate the flexibility and convenience of virtual therapy, while others prefer meeting in person. Together, we can determine what works best for your needs.
Do you take insurance?
Yes.
We are currently in network with Illinois Medicaid, Blue Cross Community Health Plans, Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO, select Blue Cross HMO plans through Guild Health, United Healthcare, UMR, Aetna, and Cigna.
We are also in the process of becoming in network with Molina Healthcare and Aetna Better Health of Illinois.

Our clinicians work with children, adolescents, adults, couples, families, parents, and caregivers.
Specific age ranges and specialties vary by clinician. We are happy to help determine who may be the best fit for your needs.
Absolutely.
While many of our clinicians have specialized training in trauma, people seek therapy for many different reasons.
Common concerns include anxiety, stress, burnout, parenting challenges, relationship concerns, life transitions, grief, self confidence, neurodivergence, identity exploration, and personal growth.
You do not need a traumatic history to benefit from therapy.
Therapy is a collaborative process.
While therapists may offer guidance, education, feedback, and perspective, our role is not to tell you how to live your life or make decisions for you.
Instead, we work together to help you better understand yourself, identify what matters most to you, and move toward the life you want to create.
Feeling nervous is incredibly common.
Beginning therapy often means talking with someone new about parts of your life that feel vulnerable, important, or uncertain.
You do not need to have the right words or know exactly where to begin. We will meet you where you are.
